GOLD MEDAL | International Wine Challenge London
FIVE STARS 96/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "elegant and harmonious"
Flagship Pinot Noir from Jeff Sinnott - Ostler winemaker and his team in the Waitaki Valley (between Canterbury and Otago). We simply adored this wine when we tried it. Initially understated in the mouth, it develops into quite a generous style with real presence and palate drive - but it is the freshly mineral finish that elevates the tasting experience to a higher plane. This is wonderful wine. Spoil yourself.
Sam Kim writes "Gorgeously fruited and immensely complex, the inviting bouquet shows dark cherry, earthy mushroom, toasted nut and charcuterie characters with a lovely floral overtone. It’s concentrated and expansive on the palate, delivering terrific fruit power and intensity, while remaining elegant and harmonious with a lengthy seductive finish."
The winery writes "Savour vibrant primary fruit notes of cherry, raspberry and a satisfying cranberry-like acid crunch. The tannins are fresh and supple, providing structure to the long, lingering finish. In the glass, the wine is a lovely bright ruby, garnet colour with striking purple hues at the rim."
