FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "It is delightfully attractive and wonderfully composed with silky texture and fine-grained tannins, making it immediately appealing."
Beetle Juice is Wooing Tree's entry level label and each vintage cleans up at the award rounds. Rich and silky smooth with fine tannins. Expect great things from this new vintage release.
Sam Kim writes "Fabulously fruited and pristine, the wine shows dark plum, sweet cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is supple and lingering. It is delightfully attractive and wonderfully composed with silky texture and fine-grained tannins, making it immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2022."
The winery writes "Ripe hand picked fruit, gentle winemaking and maturation in French oak, 27% new, have resulted in a very approachable and rich wine, with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries and Black Doris plums, a rich and silky smooth palate with fine grainy tannins to match the fruit. Excellent value, drinking fantastically well now and will develop and cellar for several years."
This wine is named after the critically endangered Cromwell Chafer Beetle, found in just one site in Cromwell.
