FIVE STARS 18.5/20 | Candice Chow for Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
95 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
A classic Marlborough Chardonnay. Aged in French oak for 11 months but with only a small portion undergoing malo fermentation, this is a fresh, elegant style of chardonnay. It's creamy on the palate and carries characteristic notes of stonefruits but these are kept in check by perfectly handled acidity.
The winery writes "We love Chardonnay! This wine is a complex, textural wine that exhibits the slight creaminess on the mid-palate that is the key characteristic of Chardonnay. The structure still retains acidity giving length and freshness."
Cameron Douglas writes "Smoky, toasty, fruity, rich and complex bouquet. Aromas of grapefruit and spice, nut, oak spices, roasted apple and peach, lemon and pith. On the palate - full-bodied, rich and complex in flavour and texture with new-ish barrel spices and grip, medium+ acidity then flavours of roasted stone fruits and citrus, baking spices and crush stone mineral suggestions. Balanced and well made, youthful, tense and lengthy. A lovely wine ready to enjoy from 2021 through 2027+."
