It is widely acknowledged that Clearview's prowess with the Chardonnay grape has few peers and its is a credit to them that, as a relatively small producer, they offer one of the most diverse and compelling Chardonnay ranges in the New Zealand market. Coastal is their fruit driven model with oak adding a voice to the conversation without taking over proceedings. The 2020 is a perfect interpretation of mid-weight, moderately oaked Hawkes Bay Chardonnay. It is fresh and vibrant but with enough creamy palate weight to keep everyone happy. Lovely wine from a very good vintage.

The winery writes "Our fruity chardonnay, balanced with a touch of oak is hugely popular and an ideal anytime wine. Partial barrel fermentation offers complexity, delivering a characteristic purity underpinned by natural acidity. Oyster shell aromatics give way to a white peach and pear flavour profile."
