Alpha Domus has a well won reputation for crafting fine Hawkes Bay wines and this excellent release from their new 'Collection' series is a study in affordable quality. This Collection Merlot Cabernet is the classic sub$20 Hawkes Bay red. A big ripe juicy Merlot Cabernet that has that all important drinkability factor in spades. This is a fleshy wine with really forward fruit flavours, soft tannins and lovely round mouthfeel.

The winery writes "An appealing, well balanced Hawkes Bay blend a classic bouquet of vanilla spice, dark plum, liquorice and berry fruit. A finely textured and generous red, with a satisfying depth of flavour that flows through to a lingering savoury finish. The soft tannin and bright fruit profile are typical of the Bridge Pa district."
